Pediatric urology is a sub-specialty of urology dealing with congenital anatomical or functional disorders of the genitourinary system in children. It encompasses a wide spectrum of disorders from complex reconstructive puzzles such as bladder extrophy to the mundane complaint of nocturnal enuresis.There have been many advances that have occurred in this field since last few decades with the impact of fetal imaging and ministration of endoscopic equipment.

  • antenatal hydronephrosis on fetal imaging
  • poor stream since birth
  • recurrent febrile UTI
  • urinary incontinence beyond age of 5 years
  • genital maldevelopment (hypospdias, cryptorchidism )
  • renal insuffiency especially in the first decade of life

  • Anderson- Hynes pyeloplasty ( PUJ Obstuction)
  • Ureteric reimplantation (vesico- ureteric reflux)
